A seeming tension between crop farmers and cattle owners over grazing rights has been settled by the District Chief Executive, of North Tongu, at Avedetoe a farming community within the North Tongu District of Volta Region.

Hon. Bubey Dzinadu addressing a community durbar asked the feuding factions to exercise restraint, stressing that conflicts are affront to development.

The impasse followed persistent complaints by farmers in the district over the reluctance of cattle herdsmen to control their animals from destroying their farmlands.

The DCE advised the cattle herdsmen to abide by the rules that regulate grazing along river banks to ensure that their animals do not go astray.

Hon. Bubey Dzinadu admonished the community to desist from open confrontations.

For his part, Togbe Adamu, chief of Avedetoe, thanked the DCE for intervening and helping to resolve the impasse amicably.

Earlier, the DCE commissioned and handed over the keys of a completed 10-seater KVIP built by the assembly to Togbe Adamu.
