NDC MP Fulfils Electoral Promise

The gesture is in fulfilment of a campaign pledge to the elders of the community during the run-up to the 2008 general election.
Presenting the keys of the school building to the District Director of Education, Mrs. Ajato-Ntem, the MP disclosed that the move is also to refurbish deteriorated social infrastructures in the area.
Hon. Asimah said the over GH¢40,000 spent on the refurbishment of the school block, which was built in 1908, was from his common fund.
As a result, he charged community members to adopt the culture of maintenance to prolong the life span of the facility.
“As we all strive to preserve this building, I will also call on the pupils to study hard and eschew negative social-vices to enable you grow to become responsible adults for a brighter future,” he asserted.
He, however, stressed the need for the electorate to keep faith with him and the Atta Mills led-government as it strives to deliver on its electoral promises.
“I can assure all of you that Prof. Mills remains very committed to the development of the country through investment and giving opportunities to especially the youth in the country for a better Ghana,” Hon. Edem Asimah added.
On his part, the DCE for South Dayi District, Kafui Sememu Bekui, reiterated that government is poised to delivering quality education through the enhancement of the school feeding programme, distribution of free school uniforms and books to the majority impoverished in the country.
“There is no doubt that every developed country rely much on education and it is imperative that the masses offer support to the government because nothing could be achieved if it is absolutely rejected by the people,” he maintained.
