‘Ghanaians must be disciplined’

Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Kwadwo Nyamekye-Marfo, has made a passionate appeal to Ghanaians to be disciplined

According to him, discipline is a pre-requisite that when embedded in Ghanaians will help the NDC government to prosecute its Better Ghana agenda.

He was addressing the parade at the 54th Independence anniversary ceremony held at Jubilee Park in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo region.

He called on Ghanaians to be guided by the theme of the anniversary “Discipline and Hardwork: Essential Pre-Requisites for a Better Ghana.”

“As Ghanaians we must add to what our forefathers left behind by working hard to sustain the economy of this country. And this would be an honour to our gallant forefathers who fought for the independence of this country,” Nyamekye-Marfo stated.

The regional minister called on teachers to get back to the classroom as government finds solutions to the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS) anomalies.

Twenty-one (21) primary schools, 19 Junior High Schools, 10 Senior High Schools and 3 cadet corps participated in the parade.

Mr. Nyamekye-Marfo, DCOP Robert Ayalingo, Brong Ahafo Regional Police Commander, and Ms. Georgina Enyan, deputy Director of the Ghana Education Service (GES) inspected the parade.

Unfortunately, teachers from public schools in the Sunyani municipality boycotted the anniversary parade except teachers from Police Experimental Primary School.

After the march past competition, the primary school category was won by Susec Model School placed and was followed by Ridge Experimental Primary B, with the third position going to Miracle Primary.

In the Junior High School category, Ridge South JHS emerged first; the second and third positions went to Ridge North JHS and Susec Model JHS respectively.

Twene Amanfo SHS was first at the Senior High School level whilst St. James Seminary took the second position with Sunyani Senior High School winning the third position.

Susec Model Primary took away a set of jersey, a clock and a certificate. The rest of the schools were given certificates.
