As part efforts to make the Convention People’s Party visible and vibrant to contest the 2012 General Elections, the 2008 presidential candidate of the party last week Friday offered for commissioning a new party office for the Effutu Constituency branch of the CPP at Winneba in the Central Region.

The new Effutu CPP office was singularly funded by Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom and promised to fund 60 other new offices for the CPP throughout the country before the 2012 election.

The acquiring of more party offices, Dr. Nduom said, was one of his major priorities to ensure that the CPP becomes more vibrant and formidable at the grassroots through polling station organisation.

Speaking to CPP members and faithful(s) who attended the event, Dr. Nduom lamented the inability of successive governments to improve the lot of Ghanaians. This, he attributed to the fact that past governments have not created enabling environment for Ghanaians to make good use of.

He was also unhappy with the way and manner “our governments” sit by passively and watch foreign nationals do things against the interest of Ghanaians.

Against this background, Dr. Nduom appealed to Ghanaians to give power to a political party which when voted into power, will implement policies that will improve their well-being.

And that political party, according to him, is no other party than the Convention People’s Party (CPP).
“CPP is the only political force that can salvage this nation from its dwindling fortunes,” he declared.

The chairman of the Effutu Constituency branch of the CPP, Mr. Charles Enningful, noted that the Effutu constituency used to be one of the strongholds of the CPP because of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s affection with chiefs and people of the area.

“That explains why Dr. Kwame Nkrumah established the Ideological Institute which has now become the University of Education with the aim of training public servants to become ideologically-inclined to the national development agenda,” Mr. Enningful disclosed.

He therefore used the occasion to call on the people of the area including party executives to work hard to ensure that the CPP wins the Effutu parliamentary seat and also help bring the party back into power.

Present at the ceremony were the National Women’s Organiser-elect of the CPP, Mrs. Mary Ankomah Boakye Boateng, some regional executives, and other leading members of the party in the region.
