President Atta Mills promises more opportunities for 2012

President John Evans Atta Mills has declared that with the number of successes chalked under his leadership within three years, 2012, without mincing words, would be full of hopes and opportunities.

Lending credence to claims by the Information Minister that government had accomplished a number of enviable achievements under the President’s declared ‘Action Year’ in January, Prof. Atta Mills singled out December 2011 as the best of all months to have been experienced by Ghanaians.

“…And my brothers and sisters, no one can deny that the month of December this year has been the best for our nation so far. And that gives us hope and confidence for the future.”

Speaking at the end of year party for staff of the Castle, President Mills conceded that these successes did not come on a silver platter.

“There have been ups and downs, there have been challenges, there have been disagreements; yet in spite of all these we have been able to record the highest economic growth rate in the history of our dear nation.”

Nevertheless, President Mills was upbeat about the $3 billion Chinese loan acquired by the government, saying it will enable his government to carry out a number of developmental projects that will transform the country.

“I am hopeful for the year 2012; 2012 is going to give us a number of opportunities.”
