The President, His Excellency John Evan Atta Mills, has taken a dig at rumour-mongers and the constant attempt to make his health status an issue and has sought to find out if his continuous existence is a threat to others.

In response to a question on his health status President Mills indirectly asked if some people wished for him to be dead.

Reports were rife in media circles propagated by opposition elements that President Mills went to Cuba recently to seek medical attention; a claim the president stridently denied.

Addressing Senior Journalists and Editors at the third edition of the Editors Forum held at the seat of government, Osu Castle, a clearly riled President Mills, in answer to a question posed by Charles Takyi Boadu of Daily Guide who wanted to know if the President indeed has cancer as being speculated by some Ghanaians, irrespective of the fact that he (Mills) told the nation a year ago that he has sinus-related health problems, said; “Atta Mills has died so often. Atta Mills cannot leave the country without being alleged that they put off the lights, went in the presidential plane, he was in Cuba, they were even stating the hotel in which he was (staying), he was in coma, he was in this. I want to ask a question, does my continuous existence pose as a threat or impediment to anyone?” he asked.
