Black Stars celebrating after scoring

STORY: ACHINAKE FATAW

At last, the intelligent goals from Asamoah Gyan and Dede Ayew against Mali on Saturday evening in Franceville Gabon put the Black Stars on top of Group D

The Black Stars, who are now leading the group on six points with three goals, are determined to crown their impressive group results against Guinea with a win to make it three wins out of three into the quarter finals.

A win against Guinea will automatically separate the Boys from the men but with Guinea whipping Botswana 6-1 in an earlier Group D encounter means massive pressure would be mounted on the shoulders of the Black Stars in their final encounter.

The Black Stars now need just a point on Wednesday to ensure they grab top spot and would either play Tunisia or co-hosts Gabon in the next stage.

This group has been thrown wide open and should Guinea beat the Stars on Wednesday and Mali beat Botswana, the head to head formula would be applied.

For now, all is well at the black Stars camp with morale being high.

Coach Stevanovic would have players for spoil in selecting the men to man his defence due to the return of John Mensah and Isaac Vorsah.
