Stars to play Tunisia in quarter finals

Ghana will meet Tunisia in the quarter-final of the African Cup of Nations on Sunday after topping Group D with seven points and are joined by Mali to the second round.

The Black Stars drew 1-1 with Guinea on Wednesday in the final game and were joined by Mali to qualify from the group.

Ghana’s game with the Carthage Eagles, who finished as runners up in Group C will be played in Franceville.
The four-time champions shot ahead through Emmanuel Agyeman-Badu who thumped home a volley from 20-yards.

But the Syli Nationale equalized in injury time of the first half through Razzagui Camara whose in-winger flew into the net thanks to a John Pantsil deflection.

The Carthage Eagles won two matches in Group C and lost 1-0 to co-hosts Gabon to settle for second place.

Ghana beat Tunisia 2-0 the last time they met at the 1998 finals in Burkina Faso.
The goal was Ghana’s 100th at the Nations Cup. But soon after the opener, Kwarasey was called into action when he tipped a volley over the bar from a corner kick.
