The government has hit back at the latest criticism from the flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo, describing it as a desperate and frustrated attempt to get back to power.
Nana Akufo-Addo told Ghanaians in the United States that Ghana under President Mills is in a state of leadership paralysis. According to him, the Mills administration has failed and does not deserve another term.
But Deputy Information Minister, James Agyenim-Boateng told Joy News government’s economic achievements are making its opponents jittery.
“Only the willfully blind will come up with a description like this. We have a president under whose leadership we have had the most prudent management of the economy with inflation being at a single digit for the last many, many months.”
He said a four-year by four-year comparative analysis should be the benchmark for measuring the performances of the NDC and NPP.
“I believe if we were to do a four-year analysis of the NDC and we were to be juxtaposing that against the eight years under NPP rule, we would have a lot more to show for the good people of Ghana and the records speak for itself.”
James Agyenim-Boateng, however, denied the NDC is desperate to hang on to power.
