World Bank scouts for new president

The World Bank Group is calling for nominations for the position of a new President.

It says nominations for the position should be submitted by close of March 23 this year.

According to the bank, candidates must be nationals of the Bank’s member countries.

The Bank’s executive directors say candidates should have a proven track record of leadership and also have the ability to articulate a clear vision of the World Bank Group’s development mission among others.

Following the close of the nomination process, a statement from the Bank last Friday said the Executive Directors will decide on a shortlist of up to three candidates.

It will subsequently publish the names of the shortlisted candidates with their consent.

The shortlisted candidates are expected to be interviewed with the new President chosen by the Spring Meetings this year.—Citifmonline.com
