Suame magazine razed down

Fire has engulfed the Suame artisanal enclave in Kumasi (Magazine) Wednesday night, destroying stores and property within about 40 meters square.

Fire tenders battled the blaze suspected to have started at about 9:00 pm from one of the shops.

Reports indicate that the raging fire also consumed a nearby gas station, making it difficult for the fire fighters to put out the fire.

It took the fire fighters close to two hours to put out the fire due to the combustible items involved

A number of people escaping from the blaze were also knocked-down by motorists hurrying their vehicles to safety.

It is however unclear the cause of the fire.

No casualties have so far been reported
